Rocket Launch

July 20th, 2010 by Lori Hasan

On Sunday, July 25th, we have our annual Rocket Launch, at the CMS fields from 3-5 pm. Bring your own rocket, the pack will supply the engines and the launch pads. This is a joint venture with Pack 479, so be sure to wear your blue pack t-shirts or uniform. You can make your own rocket from a kit, or buy one all constructed and ready-to-go. You can find rockets at hobby stores like Hub Hobby or Hobbytown, or even at Walmart. Pick one that uses an A or B sized engine — no C engines are allowed.
Please RVSP to MARY VAN BEUSEKOM (vanbeusekom1 {at} msn(.)com) by July 20.  –
Adults, you will want chairs, and if you have portable shade (like a canopy), you might want to bring that, too. Siblings can participate, too — we ask for a $2 donation to offset the cost of the engines.

********VOLUNTEERS NEEDED**************
- Volunteers to help assemble the barrier area before the event
- Volunteers to help the boys assemble the rockets and the igniters properly.
- Volunteers to help launch the rockets – adults only inside the firing zone
- Volunteers to help keep the boys in order at first while they wait their turn

Parents – if you are able to come to the event,  we hope you will think about volunteering to make the event more successful!

Thank you,
Lori Hasan
