Tigers (1st grade)

Tiger BadgeTiger Cubs is an exciting introduction to the scouting program for first grade boys (or 7 years old) excited to get going! Tiger Cubs do stuff – lots of stuff – with their adult partners. The activities are easy and fun, designed to orient boys to working in a den environment, and to start building the friendships that will last through their Cub Scout years. This program is intended to open up the world to inquisitive minds along with the caring guidance of adults. The first steps along the Boy Scout Trail are laid here and every rank advancement through the scouting program builds on the basic categories of activity done as tigers.

Tigers meet twice a month as a den, plus they go on 5 Go See It! field trips through the year. They also participate in the pack meetings and events. The Tiger year is unique to the Scouting program in that for every meeting or event, the Tiger must have a parent or guardian (or other adult partner) in attendance.

It was cold and wintry – a crisp fall day! A last minute time change had us all rushing, and three Tigers made it to the Eagle Bowl in time for the flag ceremony. We got to stand out in the middle of the field with the American Flag and our pack flag, while the stands sang the National Anthem. Cool!
